Allegheny Anesthetists provides anesthesia services in small rural hospitals, trauma centers, surgery centers, plastic surgery centers, pain management practices, endoscopy suites, and large urban hospitals.

In the Beginning

Allegheny Anesthetists, a CRNA-owned and operated business, began in early 2001 when a handful of anesthetists got together to help their communities and augment their careers. They began by offering office based anesthesia services on their days off. The idea was a good one, and quickly caught on. Participating anesthetists could optimize their earnings on their free days and physicians were able to get help by tapping into this network of anesthesia care.

A Success Story

The network concept worked well and within a year Allegheny Anesthetists added local hospitals to their growing network. Before, hospitals often had to make dozens of calls to find one CRNA able to help. But by working with a group of networked CRNAs, only one call was needed.

A Bright Future

The business has matured through the years and this “network of care” has experienced dynamic expansion. In 2005, with nearly one hundred active CRNAs on board, many on a full time basis, the territory covered and number of assignments filled has increased dramatically. As the needs of the community change, the network responds.

Allegheny Anesthetists has never lost sight of its original mission of serving individual patients, doctors, and hospitals as a part of a health care network. The primary focus has always been, and continues to be, local hospitals and local people.
